So I saw this back in October and what really stood out to me was that big ol' limited edition stamp on it, and the color schemes. I chose Bohemian Soul, because I'd actually wear the colors provided. I have this horrid habit of buying makeup in colors that I would never wear anywhere or with anything. I decided to go with the safer of the two available palettes. // typical Grace move//
Anyhow, first off, I've never tried any eye shadows from Etude aside from this, so I wasn't really sure what to expect from this, but I decided that this was the perfect excuse for me try em' out.
This palette gives you six warm toned corals with 1 pearl finish, 1 cream product, 1 shimmery, and 3 uber glittery shadows. It also comes with a disposable sponge that, surprisingly, is one of the better of application methods. I find that the shadows have a powdery texture (except for the cream one, obvi which f.y.i. smells like roses) and take quite a few swipes to build up.
Shade Descriptions:
Folk Song: A mocha brown base color with a pearl cast and finely milled gold shimmers
Apricot Jam: A bright peach color to give eyes and cheeks a fresh look with a soft cream formula
Ethnic Coral: A pink rose with small gold and coral glitters
Gypsy Queen: A cream colored glitter with purple and gold accents
Wanderlust: A copper with small gold glitters finely milled in
Freedom: A warm chocolate brown with gold flecks sprinkled throughout
The texture of the shadows are nice, but the problem is they don't last very long on their own and lack pigmentation. It'd probably be best to use a primer with these, especially the glitter ones, since they have the most fall out.
Back to that whole application process thing I mentioned earlier, You legit cannot apply this with a dry brush! You will get the smallest amount of color on your lids and would take you forever to build up. You can either use your fingers, or the sponge they provide you with. If you REALLY want to use a brush, you could take a firm one and wet it before use.
Pros:
Nice colors
Smells like roses ;)
Well packaged
Cons:
Lots of glitter fallout
Bad pigmentation
Hard to apply
Limited Edition
Overall Rating: (DRUM ROLL PLEASE)
3.5/5
