Miss A 'Only You' Suzy Makeup Tutorial

Hey Everyone!
This is a little late, but I loved Suzy's makeup in Miss A's latest music video, Only You. It incorporates purples and pinks in a very beautiful and sophisticated way. So let's get right on into this tutorial!

~Face~

1. Base
To make my skin a little paler, I went in with the Tonymoly Pure Aura CC Cream to brighten up my tone. I dotted it on and blended it out with a thick foundation brush.

2. Conceal
One of my favorite tricks is to mix my under eye concealer with a liquid highlighter. Here I mixed the Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream and The Face Shop High Lighter Beam. I applied it with a concealer brush and blended it out with a damp beauty sponge.

3. Set
To insure that all of the base products are going to stay in place, I'm setting it with the Maybelline Fit Me powder and a fluffy brush using patting motion to avoid moving the foundation around.

4. Blush
Suzy has a gorgeous glowy blush on her cheeks that totally boosts her tone, so I'm using a shimmering blush. I applied Innisfree Eco Mineral Blush in Romantic Pink with the same fluffy brush from earlier onto the apples of my cheeks and swept it up toward my hairline.

~Eyes~

1. Brows
To really define my eyes, I went with the Skinfood Black Bean Brow Pencil in Dark Brown and ran the stick through the sparse areas and blended everything in with a spoolie brush.

2. Base
Taking a fluffy brush I'm applying Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Mardi Gras over the lower portions of my eyelid, mainly concentrating this bright color underneath my crease line and gradually fading as it progresses upwards.

3. Brighten
To give the eyes a cute look, I'm taking a silver color from the L'Oreal La Nude palette and applying first to the inner corner, then sweeping it along the under eye line with a firm eyeshadow brush.

4. Tightline
To give the lashes a fuller and more volumized look, I took the Memebox I'm Eyeliner in Black and tighlined my upper lash line.

5. Line
To further define my eyes, I went in with the Skinfood Sweet Almond Eye Liner in Black and drew a thin line along the lash line.

6. Lashes
To achieve a false eyelash effect, I curled my eyelashes before applying the L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara with an even zigzag motion.

~Lips~

1. Color
To give my lips a glossy pink look, I used the Etude House Color in Lips in PK002 which is a gorgeous bright pink. To finish the look I tapped a finger onto my lips to give a more natural gloss look.

~Finished Look~

I hope you all enjoyed this look! And just a quick little thank you SOO much! About a week ago I hit 20k views for my blog, which was my year end goal. Crazy that I reached it only halfway through the year! Can we get to 30k before the year is up?? I love you all so much and am so thankful for your support throughout the years! I'll see you next time,

Summertime Skincare Essentials

Hi Everyone!
After a week long vacation in the gorgeous Outer Banks in North Carolina spent romping around, I finally feel like summer is upon us. I always qualify May as a summer month because not only does it start to warm up, but it's basically the end of the school year as well. For me, I'm going to be finishing up school in a couple of weeks and will turn in my junior title for a senior one! While I'm slightly scared an a little shocked that I've actually come to this point in life, I'm also excited for the change that will come with it. But I have an entire summer before I have to seriously start focusing on that, and what better to put me in a summertime mood, then to share my must have skincare ingredients with you for the summer. These ingredients are my absolute favorite and I look for them in almost all of the products I use in the warmer months.

1. Aloe

In the summertime, there is nothing I reach for, more than aloe. It's soothing, cooling, and is AMAZING for hormonal acne skin types. In the summer I like to spend large amounts of time out in the sun, and despite using SPF, I usually start peeling. Aloe helps so much in keeping my skin soft and soothed as well as preventing even worse peeling. It acts as a protective barrier for your skin and helps to heal it faster. Of course, one of the easiest ways to use aloe, is with aAloe Vera gel. One of my favorite's is by Fruit of the Earth because it's a lot more natural than other brands gels. Also a fantastic way to use this product is with mists and cleanser. There are several cleansers out there that have aloe in them, but I'm a big fan of the Skinfood Aloe Vera Cleansing Foam because it's uber gentle and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and clean.

2. Sea Salt

After frolicking in the ocean all week, I've come to the conclusion that ocean water is the best. The salt content exfoliates your skin, clears it up, and cleanses it all in one fell wave. That's not even to mention how fantastic it is for your hair in adding texture! There is definitely a reason why it is a new favorite skincare product. One of the easiest ways of incorporating it into your life, is buy a bath soak. Super easy to make by simply adding 1 cup of coarse sea salt to your bath and a few drops of essential oil, like eucalyptus or lavender. To make it even better, you could mix in some honey and/or milk before hand to have some of the softest skin ever. Scrubs are also a great way to use sea salt. Use the same ingredients from the bath soak, except for using a finer ground salt for the ultimate experience. Lastly for that all around the year beach babe vibe, you can never go wrong with a sea salt hair mist. I've been loving the Not Your Mother's Sea Salt  hair mist to give my hair some added texture.

3. Cocoa Butter
The final ingredient is cocoa butter. I swear by this stuff because it is my favorite way to moisturize my skin. I've dealt with minimal body acne throughout the years and this is the only moisturizer that doesn't make me break out. It's super soothing and pampering without leaving a greasy feeling on your skin. I love the Queen Helene Cocoa Butter and use it after every shower. I've also noticed and improvement on my stretch marks since using cocoa butter in my routine. So for an added glow, slather on some cocoa butter after you shower and unlock incredibly soft skin.

That's it for my skincare essentials! These 3 ingredients really make the best out of your skin and perfect it for the summer months ahead. If you liked this post, be sure to share it with your friends and also comment below telling me your go to product this summer. I love you all so much and I will see you next time!

Pony x Memebox Pony Brown Bloom Box Review

Hi Everyone!
So, it's a pretty well known fact that I love Pony. She is seriously one of my favorite makeup artists and never ceases to create gorgeous looks. When Memebox teamed up with her earlier in November of last year, I wanted EVERYTHING from the collections. Recently they have also been creating boxes filled with new products and today I have a review on one of them.
There were three color options to choose from, and I went with brown, because for me, that is always a safe and comfortable place. There was also a pink and orange option as well.

Description: A hint of brown adds a subtle glam to your everyday makeup. This box contains products from Pony Floral Collection as well as additional makeup products that you can pair with her products to achieve Pony's signature romantic spring look. Plus a mystery skincare item!

~Products~

1. Pony Shine Easy Glam 3 Eyeshadow Quad in #01 Brown Bloom
Description: Warm, earthy brown-hued eyeshadows perfect for the spring! Silky formula applies evenly, blend effortlessly, and stays put all day.
My Thoughts: I've never not liked the eyeshadows that have been coming from the Pony collections, and this palette is no different. It has four gorgeous and shimmery browns that are ideal for the upcoming warm months. I'm pretty excited to experiment with these shades. And before moving on, let's just take a moment to comment on the AMAZING packaging. It looks so expensive and is so pretty.
Cost: $18.00 USD

2. Pony Blossom Lipstick #01 Rose Garden
Description: Formulated with white flower complex, honey, and shea butter to keep your lips moisturized and supple, this pigmented lipstick has a semi matte finish that is not overly drying.
My Thoughts: This lipstick is a beautiful orange toned red that I think will be perfect once the cold weather swings around again. For me, his color is too bold for the warm summer months, which is when I like to keep everything nice and light makeup wise. Once again though, the packaging has me squealing with joy.
Cost: $12.00 USD

3. I'm Mascara #01 Jet Black
Description: Jet-black mascara intensifies any signature look, and the powerful formula creates lavishly long, voluminous, and perfectly defined lashes without smudging or clumping. Powerful blend of vitamins and black beans strengthens and nourishes short, weak lashes.
My Thoughts: The wand looks like it could really grab each and every lash. I'm looking forward to testing this product out in the months ahead. One small down side, is that I'm not sure if it's waterproof or not, but I guess time will tell.
Cost: $5.50 USD

4. I'm Eyeliner #01 Night
Description: I'm Eyeliner Retractable Waterproof gel eyeliner glides on smoothly to deliver cosmic doses of highly pigmented color. Formula dries for a long-wearing, water resistant finish. With it's retractable end and smudge tip, this liner is your go-to eyeliner for creating countless looks.
My Thoughts: This eyeliner couldn't have come sooner. My much loved Mamonde long wear liner has bitten the dust, so to speak. This looks ideal for me, and I love the formula and richness of the color. I think I'm going to be using this a lot for tightlining.
Cost: $5.00 USD

5. Pony Easy Mix Block Blush
Description: This 4-in-1 blush pact is excellent for highlighting, contouring, and defining the apples of your cheeks. You can use it to recreate some of Pony's favorite looks. Formulated with natural and gentle ingredients to create a silky, easy to apply blush product.
My thoughts: I think this product is going to receive a lot of love from me. I think it makes a gorgeous highlighter when you mix all the colors together! The formula is very smooth and applies really easily to the skin.
Cost: $9.50 USD

6. It's Skin Mini Bebe Mist
Description: Mild protein and witch hazel extract protect the skin providing moisture and nutrition. Soothes dry skin and fruit scent giving refreshment. Cute design and mini size makes it easy to carry anywhere.
My Thoughts: I love using face mists, especially in the hotter months, so I'm excited to use this one and see how it works with my skin and makeup. It has a really nice Jolly Rancher apple scent and spray evenly across skin.
Cost: $4.00 USD

7. Hydrogel Mask
Description: Enhance radiance, alleviate irritation, effectively illuminate, and create firm, resilient skin. Memebox brings you our very own Mememask Hydrogel Mask formulated with only the best ingredients such as Baobab Tree Seed Extract, Chamomile, Niacinamide and Adenosine, and Polyglutamic Acid, leaving skin radiant and hydrated.
My Thoughts: This product probably won't be used for awhile. It has whitening properties and with summer just around the corner, I believe it is time to step up my tanning game. Thankfully vacation is at the end of this week, and I'm looking forward to soaking up every drop of sunshine I can :) So this little fella, will be chillin out until late fall.
Cost: $2.00 USD

That's it everyone! I hope you enjoyed my overview of these products. If you have any question about the products or really anything in general, leave me a message in the comments and I'll get back to you ASAP. I love you all so much, and I will see you next time, Muah!

Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion Review

Hi Everyone!
Wow. I really need to step up my game. It has been FOREVER since I've posted anything! In my defense though, I had some very good reasons.

Reason 1. I got a job! Not that I didn't have a job before, but now I have a full time job working at a greenhouse in my area. While not the most glamorous of jobs, it's an amazing work environment for me.

Reason 2. I'm attempting to finish up school as soon as I possibly can in hopes of bringing summer sooner.

Reason 3. I'm in a musical that will be performed next week so we have been squeezing in practice everyday for this week and the upcoming one. Not really giving me a whole lot of down time. I'm in charge of the makeup for it too, so I've been swamped with prep stuff.

Pretty good reasons, right? Anyway, you didn't click on this post to read excuses from me about why I've been neglecting my blog. You're here to read about the Etude House cushion product. Okay, let's jump into it then.

P.S. All info * is direct from Etude House's website :)

Packaging:
The product comes in a pearly toned case that looks like a powder compact. It has a moderate weight to it; not too heavy, not too lightweight. It has a cute shimmer to it as well, giving it that classic Etude House vibe.

*What it is
A cushion soaked in foundation, it can be bb or cc cream too, housed in a chunky compact with second lid/compartment for the puff and also to keep the foundation from drying.
6-in-1 almighty cream foundation cushion (UV protection (SPF50+/PA+++) + Sebum control + Whitening + Tone correcting + Anti-wrinkle + Moisturizing).

*What it does
- Whitening: Containing pearl mineral powder and Niacinamide to help skin keep sleek and clean condition for long time to avoid darkened.
- Moisturizing: 'Moisture-Lock' formula applied to hold moisture inside of skin layer to keep skin hydrated long.
- Smoothing: It contains sebum controlling powder to prevent skin getting oily and greasy, but it is smoothly applied to deliver all the flawless coverage with a natural luminous finish.

My Thoughts
This product is pretty good. It provides a very nice buildable coverage and gives a natural look to the skin. One thing that I'm not the biggest fan of, is that it tends to accentuate any dry patches that you might have on your skin. Flaky skin be warned, this is not the product for you. Also, if you have combination or oily skin, be prepared for your skin to feel slick after a few hours of wear.

On My Skin:
Left Side has foundation. Right side does not.
~Pros~
Good Formula
Brightening
Good SPF
Easy to Apply
Moisturizing

~Cons~
Accentuates Dry Skin
Not Good for Oily/Combination Skin
Not Very Long Lasting

Overall Rating:
3/5

So while some rave about this product, it just wasn't the best for me. I does a good job coverage wise, but besides from that, I wasn't too impressed. I probably wouldn't repurchase this product. I'm a little bummed about this product because I generally really enjoy Etude House foundation products. Sadly this one just didn't do it for me.
I hope that you enjoyed this review! Be sure to leave me any requests in the comment section and I'll get to them ASAP. Hopefully I'll be able to blog once a week again, but bear with me during this crazy month! I love you all so much, thank you for supporting me and I will talk to you all next time *fingers crossed* with a Suzy Only You makeup tutorial. Muah!
