2ne1 CL Missing You Makeup Tutorial

Annyeong!
Okay so this tutorial is for my bias in 2ne1, CL. Her look in this video is very classic and I'm starting to see a trend in korea, winged eyeliner. Anyway, I loved her look and while doing Bom's doll-like look would've been really fun, this one is a little more wearable. Lets jump right on in!!

Face.

Step 1.
Instead of applying a primer, for this makeup look, I decided to use a sunscreen. This helps to give the skin a more luminous and pale complexion, which is perfect for this makeup tutorial

Step 2.
Next using my favorite facial spray of the moment (as you can tell by how little is left in the bottle) I just spritz that all over my face, usually I only need three sprays. If you follow my blog you know that I rave about propolis. Basically what it does, is it evens out your skins tone and texture and allows your skin to really flourish and also helps clear and protect your skin.

Step 3:
Take a matte foundation (or in my case BB Cream since I have a thing against foundation), and apply that in small dots all over your face and blend it out with a beauty blender, or a sponge. Using the beauty blender will really help to give your skin a more natural coverage. This BB Cream I'm using helps to brighten up your skin and also helps with dark spots too.

Step 4:
Since I have really bad dark circles (thank you chemistry for making me stay up late studying :p) I'm using an undereye concealer that help not only to conceal but also prevent dark circles as well, so I'm going to apply it with my ring finger, then blend it out with my beauty blender for a natural finish.

Step 5:
Now I'm setting everything with a pressed powder and pat that onto the places I've concealed and any areas where I get oily. If your not sure what kind of powder to use, I'll put a link at the end of this post that will help you to determine which one is right for your skin.

Eyes:

Step 1:
Before anything, I have to do my eyebrows. I find that my looks really aren't complete without my eyebrows filled in, which brings the focus onto your eyes. So just follow the natural shape of the brows and you're good to go.

Step 2:
Prime your eyelids to ensure that the color will really pop when you apply them.

Step 3:
Taking a bronze brown color and apply it into the crease, then blend it out to make it look more natural.

Step 4:
Taking a shimmering eyeliner, apply that to the inner corners of your eyes and the "Cute Spot" which is the puffy part of your eye when you smile.

Step 5:
Take a shimmery vanilla color and apply that to the inner corners, cute spot and brow bone with your finger, to really pack on the color.

Step 6:
Take a gel eyeliner and wing it out. The line on your upper lash line should be medium/thick.

Step 7:
Curl the eyelashes and apply a volumizing mascara. After the coat dries, go over the lashes with a curling mascara to really open up the eyes some more.

Cheeks and Lips:
Step 1:
All that I'm going to be doing for the cheeks is take a highlighter that has gold shimmers, and apply that to the high points on my face (i.e. cheekbones, cupid's bow, top of your nose, the space above your eyebrows).

Step 2:
Conceal your lips with any kind of concealer or lip concealer. Apply it to the outer portions of your lips, prepping it for lipstick.

Step 3:
Apply a nude pink lipstick to your entire lip and blend in with your fingertips to give it a more natural finish.

Step 4:
Take a shimmery lipgloss and apply it to the center of your lips, to give them a fuller appearance.

The Finished Look:

That's it! I really hope you all enjoyed this and if you have any request, leave me a comment and I'll get back to you as fast as I can! I'll see ya'll soon!!

Miss A Suzy Hush Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Hello!!!
I haven't done a K-pop inspired video in forever! I'm really excited about this one though guys, because I love the group Miss A and Suzy is just sheer perfection. Anyway, This is so exciting and I want to jump right on in, so ready, lets go!

Face:
I already did my foundation for this post, so If you guys want a detailed foundation routine, I can have that be one of the next blog posts.

Eyes:

1.
Alright so I'm going to start with my favorite primer, the Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer, and I'm going to put that onto the back of my hand and then smooth it over my entire eye area. This step will help to make the colors bolder and brighter.

2.
Okay so taking a creme colored eyeshadow, I'm going to sweep this over the entirety of my eyelid from the inner corner up to the brown bone. This is Vanilla by MAC and it is a really pretty color that helps to brighten the eyes, which of course, was my goal here.

3.
This quad is by L'Oreal and its called Cupa Joe, and I used the colors that have the bunny on them (: Taking the slightly darker shade, I applied that to my outer V portion of my eye and I applied the lighter brown all over my eyelid up to my crease and blended it all in with a fluffy brush. This step will give the eyes more definition.

4.
Taking the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero, I'm just going to tightliner my upper lash line and also a my lower waterline about halfway. This step will make the eyes piercing and have the desired effect that I want.

5.
Take a liquid eyeliner, I'm using the Skinfood Sweet Almond Eye Liner in Black and wing out your eye makeup. Once you have a thick bold line, set it with a matte black powder, I'm using the Sleek eyeshadow in Noir. This will help the liner to last longer.

6.
Okay so then I'm just going to curl my eyelashes and apply one coat of the Maybelline Lots of Lashes mascara and one coat of the Nature Republic So Big Curling Mascara, to get length and curl to the eyelashes. This will help to open up the eyes a bit.

Cheeks:

1.
I'm going to highlight my face using the Skinfood All Over Muffin Cake Finish in Vanilla Peach Muffin and a foundation brush. I like to apply it at the center of my cheeks and then sweep it onto my cheekbones and other high point areas of my face for an all over lite from within glow.

2.
This is the Physicians Formula Bronze Booster for Light- Medium skin tones and I'm going to contour my face with this lightly. I mainly want this to add some sunkissed glow, rather than a sharp contouring edge. I really like this one because it doesn't make my face look muddy.

Lips:

1.
I'm going to conceal my lips so that I can make them look smaller, so to do that I'm using the Aritaum Wannabe Cushion Lip Concealer in Clair and then blending it out with the sponge on the other side. I really like this stuff because it is a natural look kind of color.

2.
     My favorite part, the red lipstick! This one is by Revlon and is called Certainly Red. I first applied it with a lip brush to insure that I will get the right kind of shape. I went over my lips then with the bullet and dabbed so that I wouldn't get any on my teeth (;

The Finished Look:

That's it! I really hope you all enjoyed, and if you have any other K-Pop music videos you want be to do a tutorial for, write it in the comments bar and I'll see ya'll soon!! Have a great day,
Gracie

November Favorites 2013

Hi!

OMG I haven't blogged in ages! I'll tell you why, I started making videos on YouTube and most of the time I'm crazy busy so videos work much better, but today on a slow Friday night, I finally get to blog (: Oh also I have a tumblr so, I'll put links for both of those things at the end of this post. But anyway, I'm going to jump right on into my favorites because I have quite a few.

Music:
Okay so right now, my favorite artists are Gabrielle Aplin and Roy Kim, they kind of make my life (:

Roy Kim- So Roy Kim is Korean, and this song is in Korean as well. He has a really nice mellow feel that sounds a lot like Busker Busker ( another Korean group). Its music that reminds me of a summer afternoon, reading your favorite book cough* The  Iron Fey, and drinking a nice cup of tea, if that makes sense. Its acoustic and his voice is like heaven.
My Favorite Song by Roy Kim:
Bom Bom Bom -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3-BDy55tq4&list=PLz00mSbFCxO6Fpnngxl86Ymkpwc2fXqlt

Gabrielle Aplin- If you love Ed Sheeran, you're going to love Gabrielle. The lyrics to her songs are so pretty and impacting. Her voice is like perfect and her music has a nice crisp feel to it. I really enjoy this artist not only for her talent, but because she has a great vibe as well.
My Favorite Song by Gabrielle Aplin:
Start of Time- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWcGtLblBxs&list=PLz00mSbFCxO6Fpnngxl86Ymkpwc2fXqlt

Beauty:

FACE:

Physicians Formula Super BB Concealer- Okay so when I first got this, I really didn't know what to think. The line had a very small range of color option, and this one has a very orange cast to it. So what do I do? I use it as an under eye concealer.
The Claims:

To Diminish the appearance of

  • Dark Circle
  • Puffiness
  • Imperfections
  • Blemishes
  • Redness
  • Uneven Skin tone
I think that once I get tan again (I'm like a snowball right now ): ), that it will look better for all these other things, but for now, it has been a great under eye concealer. It really helps to diminish the darkness under my eyes and make them all pretty and bright again.

Skinfood Facial Ice Vita Mist- This is my favorite toner/mist. I love it sooooooo much! Okay, so if you couldn't tell from all my previous posts, I love everything Korean. So a couple a months ago I came across this and I have been using it religiously ever since. It provides a cooling effect on the skin and it feels very refreshing.
The Claims:

So this whole Ice Vita line is supposed to have come from pure glacier water that naturally has alkalescent enriched with oxygen, potassium ( K (; oh chemistry), calcium, magnesium, and other beneficial minerals. Good enough for me! Also it cools and re hydrates dry dressed skin (check) with Vitamins a,b,c, and e complex and Alaskan glacier water. Don't ask me how they got glacier water from Alaska to Korea, but if I had to guess, I'd say that they send some extractors up there and take chunks out of a polar bears home (it's okay, it's not big chunks) and put it in a cooler with ice packs (oh the irony) and ship it by boat keeping it at the bottom so it stay cool, all the way to S. Korea. Hahaha yup.
Anyway, I love this product it totally is a boost for my skin and doesn't break me out, so I really enjoy it. Plus the packaging is so hipster.

Nature Republic By Flower BB Cream-
Out of all my BB creams, This one is my favorite. And trust me, for me to find the perfect BB cream takes a lot of work. This little sucker is one of my holy grail products. So why do I love it so much? Well, because it has everything I love and need in it. Lets go over the claims and then I'll continue my rave.
The Claims (and the truth):

  • UV Protection from SPF 35
  • Hydrating
  • Repairing
  • Soothing
  • Whitening
  • Softening
  • Medium Coverage
  • Dewy Finish
If it hasn't sold you yet, let me just tell you, this stuff lasts all day long! I apply it at like 7:30 in the morning before school and come home at 5:00 and I'm still looking nice and flawless. The SPF is great because, I don't want to feel stressed about applying sunscreen before going out now, and my skin definitely benefits from that. The hydration part is true as well. I'm one this acne medication and if I'm not super gentle on my skin, it'll get dry and flaky, and when I wear this, none of that craycray stuff happens. I love having medium coverage in a BB cream because it's still not as bad for you as a foundation. I'm really happy about the finish too. I think that matte is over rated and doesn't look natural, and I would say that this BB cream has a natural, not dewy, finish. You apply it and it's legitly like second skin.

EYES:

Etude House Proof Ten Eye Primer-

This stuff is great and not just because its from my favorite country and the packaging is great. This is one of my favorite primers and reminds me a lot of the E.L.F eye primer. It has a nice smooth feel to it when you apply it to your lids. Also it keeps everything in place and is waterproof (just in case you get caught in a unexpected rainstorm or thrown in a pool).
The Claims:

  • Zero Smudging
  • Zero Clumping
  • Improves Eye Shadow Durability
  • Improves eyeshadow adhesion
  • Moist and Smooth
Okay so, basically this has everything you could want in a primer. I love it and i use it under all my eye makeup during the day and i always choose waterproof when I go to school, just in case of meltdowns.

L'oreal Paris Lacquer Liner-
That is a lot of L's in one name!! Anyway, I really enjoy this gel type formula. It is my first gel eyeliner to try out and so far, I'm loving it. I was a little iffy at first because I love my liquid eyeliner and the finish wasn't as glossy, but creamy. As time went on though, I got more and more hooked on the stuff, because it's so easy to use!~ Sometimes I totally forget that  I have liquid eyeliner because I'm constantly reaching for this little guy.
The Claims:
  • Its supposed to last for 18 hours (not like I'm actually going to be wearing it for that long)
I love to line my upper lash line with this and winging out my eyes is so much easier now because of the bigger, easier to handle brush.

LIPS:

Clinique Different Lipstick in Think Bronze-
Okay so the only reason why I have clinique is because it was my grandma's favorite brand , so after she died, I inherited some of her makeup, and that included an empty lipstick container of this good stuff. I swatched the color to see if I had any interest in it and believe me, I did (; It was such a pretty burnt pink kind of color that I had to get my hands on a fresh one. To say that I love it is an understatement.

It has a really nice golden lustre to it and it goes on so nicely I just had to add it to my favorites.

Well that's it folks! I really hope you all enjoyed and if you did, to check out my tumblr and my YouTube channel.  I'll probably be doing a tutorial for Miss A's Hush tomorrow, so be looking forward to pictures and a video on my channel! Have a great day and Happy December!!

Best Neutral Lipsticks and Tinted Lip Balms

Hello poppet!
School has started and that means, for me at least, that I enter into neutral lip season. Ya'll know what I'm talking about, that perfect brownish pink that makes your skin look gorgeous, or that complementary pink that makes your lips look plumped up. So I'm going to show you my picks for the 2013 neutral season. Lipsticks, Lip Glosses, Stains, and Tinted Lip Balms.

LIPSTICK:
1. L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Balm in Rose Elixir
This product is more like a lip balm because of its sheer coverage and it moisturizing awesomeness. When you swatch it onto your skin it look super pale and not really noticeable, but on your lips it adds a beautiful rose color. It takes your lip color and gives you your own unique rose color.

2. Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Petal
I love this lipstick so much. Its a neutral pink with gold shimmer, which gives the skin a nice glow. The thing I love about it is that even though it does have this gold shimmer, it doesn't feel grainy in the slightest bit. Its an iridescent gold shimmer.

3. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
This color is great because its perfect for the end of summer. It's a perfect peach color, like the color of a peach pit. It also has gold shimmer which is great for the end of summer glow look. The one downside is that it has a slight grainy feel.

4. NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colors in Blush
This is an interesting pink shade in itself. Its a cooler neutral which works great for the colder seasons. It has zero shimmer, and a creamy finish. Its nice, thick and moisturizing when you apply it, just make sure that you exfoliate before hand since it highlight the chapped lines.

LIPGLOSS:

1. L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Gloss in Nude Touch
Some people don't like sticky lip glosses and I can see the reason why. Even though this is a stickier feeling gloss, its not too thick. The texture is just right for hydrating and staying put all day. The color is a nice pink brown with silver micro shimmers.

2.NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Cosmo
This is my favorite neutral lip gloss.  When I first purchased this product I was very concerned that it would be grainy, but its nice and smooth. The gold shimmer with the pink/brown color makes it perfect for the end of summer beginning of autumn.

LIP BALM:

1. Covergirl  Lip Slick Smoochies in #smooch
I love this color. It's a gorgeous pink/brown with silver micro shimmer. The only downside is that its really shimmery and grainy. It looks really nice on though. Once again its a cool shimmer shade in a nice warm pink. This is probably the most pigmented tinted lip balm I've ever used.

2. Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss
This is pretty darn popular of a lip balm and It looks perfect for everyday makeup if your running to the store. It has no shimmer and a nice glossy finish. It makes my lips look so plump and full which I love. It also smells like peach green tea (almost as good as arizona smells).

Thats it people! I really hope that you try out some of these products, and the nice thing is they're all drugstore products!! I understand how broke students are because, I am a broke student. Until next time, Highlight not Hide,

Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream Review

     Hey Honey Pie!
I know two posts in one week! Somethings got to be up lol. I'm somewhat obsessed with South Korea. Mainly there music (don't even get me started on DBSK and JYJ), but I also really like their cosmetics. I already have a lot of Etude House products and I love them. I've been trying to use all natural product here and there, especially for my skin (since it's cleared up), and there are brands that are all natural from Korea that I like. Some of my favorites are Nature Republic, Innisfree, and Skinfood.
I've been trying to get rid of my dark circles for months. The school year is starting up again and I get like seven hours of sleep every night. I have been using the Garnier Nutritioniste Anti-Dark Circle Roller for awhile, which works great for the spring and summer. During the fall and winter my skin gets drier so I wanted to look for a creamy substance. Enter Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream.

  PACKAGING:
Okay, I am a big fan of nice packaging that feel expensive on drugstore products. I really like this packaging too. The lid has a tin feel to it and is a beautiful golden/pink  tone. The jar is a glass like plastic and has the name in a sticker around the jars and lid. Like a seal of approval (: I really enjoy the packaging because its got a nice weight and feel to it.

PRODUCT:
If you're an artist you know the texture of oil paint, and this product has a similar feel to it. It is creamy, but it feels oily in a good way. It only comes in two shades. I like to apply it after my eye cream so that it will go on smoothly since its so thick and I don't want wrinkles. I got shade 2 because usually when I buy Korean products, I get the darker shade since I'm not that pale toned. When I first applied it, it was more orange toned, but after I blended it in with my finger, it brightened my whole under eye area and looked so nice over top of my foundation.

SCENT:
I was really worried when I first ordered this product I was concerned that it would smell fishy, or something like Omega-3 pills. Fortunately it didn't smell like that, instead it smells like oil paint. If you are sensitive to scents like paint and oil scents, this isn't really your best choice.

CLAIMS:
It claims: "A dark circle concealer cream with salmon oil that effectively conceals dark circles while promoting brighter, softer skin. The highly concentrated formula applies like second skin and stays put without clumping, no matter how many layers you apply". From my experience with this product, I can truthfully say that it really does conceal your dark circles extremely well. When I first apply the product it looks really unnatural, but after blending it out, it matches your skin to a t. It loses its sticky consistency and becomes smooth to touch.

PROS:
Thick creamy consistency
Blends smoothly into skin
Brightens under eye area
Decreases the appearance of dark circles

CONS:
The sticky feel at first
The scent

OVERALL RATING: 4.5
Overall, I really enjoy this product. My dark circles have decreased and this product is a new staple in my collection. I guess the only downside is the sticky feeling at first, but that fades almost immediately. The reason why I subtracted .5 is simply because the scent might irritate some nostrils out there.

Well that is my overall review of the Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream. I hope that you try it out and love it. If you do have it and enjoy it, comment down below on your favorite thing about it. Until next time,
Gracie
